Discover Mexico City Street Food

Come into Catrina’s Taqueria and step into Mexico City! In Allen Park, this extraordinary fast casual taco shop brings you the best

street food from Mexico City. Catrina’s signature recipes, exotic ingredients and flawless execution will whisk you away. The founders went to Mexico City and brought the best that the city has to offer!

Catrina’s is an authentic, clean and a pure representation of what it’s like to eat in the city. There, you will find tortas (huge Mexican sandwiches), tacos and unique sides. The restaurant’s specialty, the al pastor, is stacked marinated pork thinly sliced into a corn or low-card jicama (hee-kama) tortilla, topped with juicy pineapple, onions, cilantro and a special salsa custom made for this taco.

Branden and Kurt Lopez scoured Mexico’s cosmopolitan capital for the best recipes from the city’s most renowned taquerias and distilled them into a single concept. They spent four years fine tuning those recipes into an iconic representation of food from the Mexican metropolis.

“We want you to step into Mexico City when you walk through our door”, said Kurt, a Mexico City resident and native. “Many of our ingredients are unique to the city, all are of the highest quality and are assembled into game changers for foodies craving the real deal,” shares Branden as he hands us an offering of the richest and most refreshing tacos and tortas we’ve ever tasted.

Catrina’s look and feel is that of contemporary taquerias and pays homage to La Catrina, the classical matron of the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a day when Mexican families pay homage to their relatives living in the other world. Throughout, you will encounter images bringing you to the city in a serious but high-spirited setting designed to make you feel you just visited the city and tasted its best.
