Inside Robin’s Loft you’ll find a variety of upscale, high quality home decor and furnishings at affordable prices - from vintage coffee tables dating back to over 100 years to brand new couches; there is a find fit for everyone. Majority of the items, they find at estate sales while others people bring in after they clean out their homes.

Both Born and raised Downriver, the couple said it has been their dream to open a business in the area. It wasn’t until recently; the Gibson’s decided to make their dream a reality. With Robin working full-time for a company based out of metro Detroit for over two decades, she realized there would never be a “perfect” time to take the leap. So, she decided to part ways from the corporate world and start a new venture as an entrepreneur. Her husband, Walt Gibson, continues to work full-time, although you’ll find him helping around at the shop once he clocks out.

Walt has experience in the furniture business. Walt mentioned he sold furniture at Art Van for over 10 years. He believes his experience has taught him to have a good eye for high quality items to bring into their shop. Growing up, Robin recalls “hunting for treasures” with her mother, Phyllis Hartwick, which is why she has such a passion for her business.

Starting her own business, Robin said, has made her “happier than ever". “Life is too short to spend it doing something you don’t love.”
As an active member in the community, she said she’d like to promote and support local charities, fundraisers and organizations.robins loft wyandotte3

“It is important to take part in the community you live and work in,” she said. “We’d like to do as much as we can to help people in our area.”
Moving forward, she said she’d like to showcase artwork designed by local artists. If interested, stop in or call 734- 778-0057.

Robin’s Loft is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
